This is >BRICOLAGE, a public artwork at #LiseMeitnerSchoolOfScience in #Berlin Neukölln. The idea by German artist @FritzBalthaus won the 1st price in an open two-phase art competition and was then produced to the school's new extension building designed by @NumrichAlbrechtKlumpp.
The #artwork consists of five different assemblies and sculptures starting at the main entrance and underlining hallway and corridors spiraling through all storeys of the school building. The sculptures consist of fittings, tableware and furnishings which make reference to the building's original equipment. They are assembled into shapes that familiarly resonate with forms and patterns in science - atoms, cells and molecules, DNA and micro-organisms.
I was involved not only in the photographic documentation but also in the development of the project idea. Collaborating with Fritz on submission entries is always inspiring and fun and never feels like work. 😊
