The borough of Lichtenberg has been seeing a number of new apartment developments recently. Adding to a varied mixture of gründerzeit style, interwar #architecture and GDR plattenbau housing company @HOWOGE helps to counter the scarcity of affordable #housing in Berlin.
On the grounds of a former fire station at #Rathausstraße and situated nearby the town hall next to a #park one development delivers a fine combination of apartments, retail and a kindergarten. @HemprichTophofArchitekten designed a triangular block solution in the shape of an open triangle. Embracing a central #garden it contains 136 apartment units varying in size.
