27/07/2021 — urban redevelopment in Stuttgart
When on a production job in #Stuttgart recently I rented a room in one of the four #apartment towers north of the city's central station. Designed by Helmuth Conradi in the 1950s they were originally built to house railroad workers.
From there I had an overwhelming view upon the tracks leading to the old main #station and the growing urban district of the new #Europaviertel. It's hard to believe that in a few years from now when the new underground main station will be finished all this trackage will vanish and be redeveloped into a massive new chunk of city estate.
