Curated by Tillmann Wagner and Constantin von der Mülbe, we cordially invite you to the BDA Galerie Berlin for the exhibition “WANDBILDER – Raumhafte Fotografien von Robert Herrmann” starting on September 17, 2025, at 7 p.m.
As part of the “Labore” format, I experiment with the interaction between image and space. The exhibition space of the BDA Gallery in Berlin itself is the motif. The perception of space begins to oscillate, the boundaries of the room seem to disappear into themselves. Space and image “intercommunicate.”
As a result of my spatial-photographic experiment, I encourage viewers not to perceive the gallery space as a mere container and its walls as mere image carriers. The real space thus sheds its banality, promoting virtuality and transcendence. The exhibition is therefore an invitation to engage in a sensual and intellectual exploration of the relationship between image, space, perception, and truth.
