The Cube is a striking smart building in the heart of Berlin. Between 2018 and 2021, I documented the building’s structural shell as it took shape and, later, the completed building within the urban landscape. Through this long-term approach, I seek to understand and present architecture not merely as a finished work but as a process.
The Cube was designed by Danish architects 3XN/GXN. The sculptural and technically state-of-the-art building on Washingtonplatz forms part of Europacity and is a prime example of contemporary architecture, sustainability, and digital innovation. What fascinates me most is the kaleidoscopic interplay between its façade and the surrounding urban space.
