13/09/2022 — continuing Vietropolis

My documenatry project →Vietropolis takes a closer look at the #urban development of Saigon, a.k.a. Ho Chi Minh City. Although not the capital, Saigon is the financial center and the biggest city in #Vietnam with a population of over 10 million. Over the last decade I visited it several times and have been witnessing its densification. The old #cityscape has already been altered by a number of skyscrapers. New quarters are rapidly and organically growing, often loosely regulated. Just lately I had the possibility to revisit it again for the first time in six years. And wow, it is growing fast ... Is Saigon on the verge of becoming just another generic city or will it be able to keep its character?
